High school stories
"W- What are you talking about?" you stutter. "I was just turning on my flashlight to make my way to the bathroom."
Emma looks convinced. "Oh- so that's what you were doing." she says kindly, wiping off her tears. "I thought... never mind. I knew you couldn't be this bad." She approaches you to give you a hug, and the virtual knot in your stomach unknots itself. They bought it!
"I'm so sorry you saw that," she says quickly. "We really like each other, and couldn't help ourselves. We didn't think we would get caught in the act like this." You nod quickly, but as you look at Ethan's flaming red eyes, you know it's over.
"Oh, Emma, I don't think WE'RE the ones who have been caught in the act." he says quietly. "Alex, show us your phone."
SHIT.
You hand your phone over slowly, and they open your gallery to find at least ten pictures of them kissing. Emma looks at you in disgust. "I thought you could be trusted!" She turns away as Ethan slowly grabs you by the collar.
"You're a piece of shit, Alex," he says softly. "You don't deserve to be in this school."
And the last thing you see is his fist fast approaching your face.
