Hymn to a War God

Rainbow's "Man on the Silver Mountain" blares in your bluetooth headphones as you discreetly bang your head. The weather is mild, the sun warming the back of your neck, the pleasant breeze keeping you alert. The train will be at the crowded platform in the next few minutes, and life is good.

As the train approaches in the distance, you take note of the man next to you. A dirty charcoal sweatshirt covered a body that seems... off. Bulky in all the wrong places, like they're concealing a bullet proof vest. The hood is up, and although the man's back is turned to you, you can't shake the feeling that, somehow, the man is staring at you.

The song fades out as the train pulls into the station. The man slowly turns, revealing a glimpse of a silver, faceless mask.
