Errant

If you weren't taking chances it wouldn't be much of an adventure now would it. You throw caution to the wind and begin your descent into the secret bunker. The beams of the ladder creak as your feet find purchase. Luckily the light from above makes it easier to where your next foot-hold lands. Still, the ladder is much taller than you would have expected. You keep traveling down, down, down with no indication of when you will reach the ground or if. You could have been climbing for ten minutes, twenty, an hour--i's hard to say--but when you finally do leave the last rung and your feet touch solid ground again you heave a sigh of relief.

A slamming sound and sudden darkness make the moment short lived as the hatch above you slams shut either from the wind or something else. You jump in your skin at the noise as you find yourself in total blinding darkness. If a man stood two feet in front of you, you'd have no idea. Your eyes don't seem to have anything to adjust to. There is no light at all.

What will you do?
