Errant

Where there is water, there is life. You're taken back to your old training days, when you and your master would spend days or even weeks at a time braving the wilderness and honing your survival skills. Fresh water was always worth following; whether it continues your survival of it leads you to something more.

The bramble grow much thicker around in this part of the forest, almost as if the trees themselves were older. The sunlight seems farther than ever, but the further down you travel, the more you can see. Small glowing mushrooms begin to poke out of the earth beside the regular kind until only they remain casting a bluish green glow across the forest floor. The rush of the water is also getting louder, and soon you see where the stream bends to meet your path. The creak reflects the cool blue from the fungi almost making it seem like it is glowing itself.

It hasn't been long since you've started this leg of your journey, but you decide to refill your water skin all the same. You take one last swig before crouching down and placing the spout beneath the water. You let it fill for a few moments when you hear something like footsteps coming from not too far behind you. How do you react?
