You and Mr. Lax begin working away on the machine attaching wires, screwing in bolts, etc. After what feels likes an hour you both step back and look at what you've done. The machine looks advanced and the best way to describe it is as an arch with a lot of wires running in and out of it.
Mr. Lax: It looks pretty good if I do say so myself. Now let's see if it works.
Mr. Lax walks over to a lever attached to the machine and pulls it down. The lights in the run start to flicker and you can see electricity building up in the middle of the machine.
Mr. Lax: Stay alert Damien. This is history in the making!
The room is starting to shake as it seems like the power in the rest of the school building has shut down and is all going into the machine. Soon the middle of the arch comes to life and you can hear voices coming from the other side.
Mr. Lax: Damien! I think it is working I can hear something!
Unknown Voice #1: I think the spell is working. The portal is opening.
Mr. Lax: Hello!!! Is anyone there?
Unknown Voice #2: We need to pull them through now!
Mr. Lax: I wish we could see them right now.
