John replied that he had no right to stop you from being Chris’ date to the dance.
He stated that he felt after you first made that choice to be Chris’ date, that he would be abandoned by you eventually.
He then proceeded to tell you that Scarlet really seemed interested in him and “since YES, WE AREN’T TOGETHER, that I may just go date her. “
You looked up at him exasperated... and tried to explain that Scarlet may be interested in him because she noticed that he had nice things and that you didn’t think that was a good premise to begin a relationship.
In which John responded that at least she’s noticed all the nice things he has, unlike you.
You stood up in frustration and pushed John.
“Does it even bother you if she became interested in you cause she noticed that you were able to afford the whole room to yourself?”
John said he just does his thing and if it attracts someone, that this was how attraction starts sometimes.
You realized he didn’t have a problem with the premise of what may have peaked Scarlet’s interest.
And realized what a fool you were for not noticing certain things about John and that maybe it was your fault for not even asking him more questions about his family even... but it didn’t matter to you if John had money or not... You deeply cared for him.
You started breathing more heavily and you aren’t sure why you felt so emotional that tears were starting to come to your eyes, but they came fast.
You started babbling about Trisha and Mikhail’s incident, with John just brushing it off as a possible misunderstanding... and that he really thinks you are just jealous that Scarlet’s interested in him, cause “she is pretty hot.”
In which, you felt your hands clench into fists and the next thing you knew, you were balling in front of John and he appeared lost for words.
All your emotions just came flowing out and it wasn’t long until John hugged you... and apologized for that that statement.
And waited for you to stop crying.
He said he’d still like to go on Sunday to the Carnival as planned. Thanked you for buying his ticket... And that maybe it was best you both took a break from “studying” together.
Your heart sank as you felt casted aside.
John still walked you back to your room.
