After you ordered, John asked about your hopes and dreams.
You told him you got into Biology, because you wanted to contribute to research of genes and possibly gene editing. Things like genetic markers for diseases and possibly contribute to research towards cures.
You asked John why he got into Biology. He mentions he feels it’s an area that could help him in a future pursuit. He briefly talked about pathology, which really fascinated you, especially since he seemed quite knowledgeable in this area.
Then the food came and as you are both eating, John asked about your other interests.
You mention liking to read and write. Then you told him that you loved theme parks and roller coaster rides.
John says there is an annual carnival coming up. He said he likes carnivals, but not for the rides, but for the basketball hoop carnival games. He played basketball in high school so he has won quite a few large stuffed animals in his youth. He said he wouldn’t mind giving you a big stuffed animal... and you blushed as the way he said this, made you think of alternative meanings.
You were excited to hear about this upcoming carnival and asked if he’d attend with you. John seemed hesitant, but you coaxed him into it by saying that you would pay for his ticket.
When it came to bill paying time, the waitress told you that John already paid.
You didn’t recall him giving money or credit card to the waitress. John snickered and told you that he was just glad you both got to enjoy a good meal. He said since you are getting his carnival ticket, that dinner was on him.
You accepted and thanked John.
As you left the restaurant, a cold breeze made you shiver, and John quickly gave you his jacket.
You smiled as it smelled of him and because you felt this was an overall great evening.
As you both were heading back, John pointed to a secluded dark parking lot next to some developments in the making and commented if you’d like to mess around in the back seat of his car.
