Strangely Forgotten

"It's strange, isn't it?" She comments, reading your thoughts.

"What?" You ask suspiciously.

"This whole situation. I couldn't imagine going into the world right now with no memories. With the EMP gone off, communication with anyone is nearly impossible. It's nice, I guess, knowing there's another kid in this world other than me. Anyways, we're lucky. Apparently, a few hospitals have found a new power source, not knocked out by the EMPs. It's how you're still alive. If they didn't have power, who knows where'd you be right now."

You don't respond. You can tell she's trying to give you information without seeming suspicious. You think about how strange it is, that the hospitals have power. Is that even possible? You decide there is definitely something fishy going on.

Your distrust seems to make the child happy. You look at her, deep in thought, and she winks, "Well, hopefully I'll see you later, then. I think you still have another visitor." She walks out of the room. The wink startles you, but you feel like you may be getting a grasp of the situation. Don't trust anyone.
