Strangely Forgotten

You don't really have any other ideas anyways. The two of you set off, prepared for a long journey together.

After hours of walking, you are overcome with absolute exhaustion. You consider just collapsing where you are. "I don't know if the whole military thing was true, but I'm near dead," you gasp.

She tugs your arm, panting as well, but not nearly as hard as you. "We're almost there. It's right around this tree over the hill. And we'd better hurry. The last time I traveled this late around here, I encountered... this thing."

"What thing?" You breathe.

"If we stay here much longer, we're bound to find out."

You pant hard, not sure if you're going to be able to make it there anyways.
