This Story is Going Nowhere Fast

You hit your head and are suddenly knocked unconscious... you awake in a hospital emergency room your head bandaged but bloody. Something is strange though... you look around and see no one else in the hospital. Nor do you see a trace of anything. You look out the window of your room, nothing but desert as far as you can see.
