Alex meets your gaze and he seems to be assessing you. After a long moment he removes his hand and nods.

"I'm sorry, I clearly misunderstood your intentions. I'll untie you of course."

He shifts and gets off the bed and moves up to where your hands are tied. You sigh in relief.
