As is the case with all storebought shards, it is best to focus a single character or ship until they're 7 stars. When working on a ship, this can result in a small stockpile being built up. This is okay! You'll get at most 1200 tokens per day, and can spend up to 1600 per day on a single unit. So when the ship you're working on is finished, that stockpile will guarantee the ability to purchase the next static (always available) unit all 4 times per day, until that stockpile is diminished.
