In Love With an Aven

You shake your head, years of fear pooling in your eyes.
“No! I don’t know what you are or what you want but no, no!”
You run away, stumbling over root and rock. One of your heels comes off and you limp unevenly through the forest, flinching as you step on sticks and rocks. Finally you arrive at the street screaming for help. Finally a police car sees you and pulls over.
“Please officer, please help!” You sob.
“What’s wrong ma’am?” He invites you into his car.
“There was a man with wings and he was so good looking so I confronted him but then he told me I was a fairytale and tries to take me away!” You cry as you climb into the car, wiping your tears and blubbering on about your fright.
“Don’t worry ma’am, I’ll take you where you need to be.”
You nod thankfully, thinking he's taking you to the police station for help. You begin to scream and scratch at the windows however when he pulls into the parking lot of the insane asylum.
“I’m not crazy!” You yell, clawing at your seat belt.
“Of course you’re not ma’am.” The officer replies sarcastically, in clipping his handcuffs.
