Erinyes Game

You sit at the judgement table, feeling very much alone with all the empty seats between and around you.

The two of you wait a while, but nothing happens. The loudspeakers are eerily silent, and you both exchange a nervous glance.

"Do you know what's going on?"

Apollo frowns. "This should be the end of game, I believe."

"And it is!" A newcomer enters the room, a tall man wearing purple and black. He strides forward, his cape billowing out behind him.

"Not the time, Hades. What now?" Apollo asked, unfazed.

So this is Hades...handsome, but a bit too theatrical for your taste. As if that matters, he subjected you to a death game and caused the deaths of innocent people!

You feel yourself getting angry, but before you can say anything Hades holds up a hand.

"Worry not. This game is indeed over. Allow me to congratulate the both of you for surviving until the end. In honor of your success, I will release you both from this facility."

"Is that some kind of trick, Hades?" You say, unsure if you should allow yourself a glimmer of hope.

"It is not, my dear Hestia. The only condition is as such: you two must not make extended contact with each other. If you do, there will be consequences."

Did you really want to speak to Apollo ever again, never mind so much as look at him again?

"Fine, then," says Apollo.

"Agreed."

"Excellent. Now go get some rest."

With that, you and Apollo leave the room, heading up to your bedrooms. Before shutting his door, Apollo pauses in the hallway, hand on the doorknob.

"Hestia."

You turn back to him. "Yes, Apollo?"

"For what it's worth, I am sorry that I had to kill those you care about. As short as our time together was, it was nice getting to know you."

"...Yeah. I think so, too. When we get back out there, I wish you the best of luck."

He smiles briefly. "Good luck to you, as well. Have a good night, Hestia."

That night, your dreams are blank, devoid of any colors. Then a tendril of purple winds its way towards you, tinting the void deep purple, and you can't tell if you're happy about it or not.

You have 1 choice:
