The Sanguine and Blackbeard's Cutlass

The man, dressed in brown leather, leans impatiently against the railing. An arquebus hangs upon his back, a weapon outdated by current standards. The musket was far more typical a rifle. At least the cutlass at his left hip looked modern, if not prototypical. He fans cool air towards his face with his feathered hat.

“Well met, Captain,” he speaks.
“What can I do for you...?” you ask indicating for his name.
“Dampier.”
“What can I do for you, Dampier?”
“I serve the honorable Woodes Rogers. He requests that you join him this evening to discuss business.”
“What does that old privateer want with me?” you ask.
“That is a matter between the two of you. I’m simply to offer an invitation for you to meet at his estate.”

Realizing that you have no choice in the matter, you tell Dampier to inform Rogers of your acceptance. He replies with something along the lines of “he’ll be expecting you”.

At this point, your mind drifts towards the business Rogers wants to discuss, and the formality of the conversation flows without thought. Rogers is a prominent figure in the Caribbean and working for him could bring fortune for The Sanguine and her crew. Refusing his offer would make a powerful enemy and perhaps bring the crew to mutiny. You have no choice but to meet Rogers this evening.
