Chalk Girl

“Ellerie’s not like that.” You ponder to yourself. “Other than that her mom is crazy, Ellerie’s probably still a good person.” You say aloud. Even when you say it, you still don’t believe it. You see the small piece of chalk that must have dropped with you as you fell. You hurriedly pick it up and look for a empty space on the floor. You hear the door trying to be opened by Ellerie’s mom, she was getting in. You couldn’t let your last thought be fear. So you decide to think of something happy. You drop down onto your knees, tears slowly forming in your eyes. You draw a picture of your house in the same chalk that saved your life once before. As you finish the last detail, you gasp. The drawing was sucking you in! You shriek loudly as you get fully sucked into the picture. You open your eyes and suddenly are confused as to where this odd smell is coming from. Realizing this sent is familiar. You make a full 360 of the room confused as to why things were not very foggy anymore. You then realize that you were home, back in your house. Confused you try to stand up, but your weight is more than you remembered. You look at your arm. “It’s not chalk!” You exclaim, you realize your in your own bed in your own real house. Your mom comes in “Your not chalk!” You yell, tears flowing rapidly down your cheeks, this time tears of joy. “What happened darling?” She asks looking worried “You were gone for three years, we thought you were dead!” “I was in there for three years” you exclaim. You look closely at your mom. She looks worn out and has gray streaks running through her hair. She aged three years but you are still the same. What do you do? Go and see your friends or stay home?
