Pride and/or Prejudice

What starts out as a fun drinking game for Lizzie and Charlotte quickly delves into a masochistic exercise in excess as Mrs Bennet, too, becomes steadily more inebriated. The two friends began with quick sips of sherry traded between giggling jabs commenting on Mrs. Bennet's antics but it soon descends into a full-on marathon-chug when Mrs. Bennet forcibly introduces herself to the Bingley party. Worst of all, Mrs. Bennet drags along a fluttering Lydia, a wannabe-fluttering Kitty, and Jane (who is a victim in the entire farce) and her antics infect them by proxy.

Lizzie and Charlotte observe the scene of a flustered Bingley attempting to remember all of the Bennet sisters' names while his friend, Mr. Darcy, looks on passively (or perhaps looks like he's concentrating very hard on not belching; it's a hard to tell). Lizzie and Charlotte, who are nothing if not committed, exchange glances and tip the bottom of their sherry glasses up, coming up for air only to refill.

What started as a fun game turns into a melancholic and sobering (irony intended) realization of the Bennet family's extraordinary ability to embarrass themselves. When Lizzie wakes up in the morning and conquers a massive headache, she takes this realization into account and promptly runs off to become a palm-reader in a traveling circus.
