I finished off the number without saying anything back to him, turning around to watch him as he stood still and didn't make a move. He knew that whenever I watched him, he had to act innocent as if I hadn't seen him, but I couldn't figure out what his play was here. I got shaken out of my trance in those wide, coffee eyes when Rose picked up, making a little 'mmh' sound on the receiver.
"Colonel Rose, speak your mind or don't bother me."
"I need you down here, he's awake."
"Coming."
When the call ended, I didn't really move, just continued staring at either him or my gloves. He shuffled once or twice, testing the bondings. "So we're going to sit in silence until she arrives?"
"Mhm." I nodded, flashing him my most sarcastic smile. I was hearing Rose nearing already, by the fussing down the hall.
