I stared at him as if he was nothing interesting, watching his expression contort from surprise to mild anger. I didn't like being in close proximity to him whenever I wasn't with my father. When Armitage was next to me, it meant Ren couldn't touch me, no matter how much steam was coming out of the bull's ears. But, when I was just with Rose, it meant i was in the danger zone.
Did I believe Ren would do something to me while my father wasn't with me? No, I did not. Did I believe he was very much capable of it if he wanted to? Yes, I do. I have seen the damage Kylo has done to various parts of the Finalizer and I have to say, credits have gone just for repairing the ship. He's what Snoke called an 'attack dog'.
Kylo loomed over me with two large steps, casting a shadow over me that was as threatening as sharing 3,000 cubic centimeters of air with him.
"I do whatever I want with my prisoners. I believe you forget whose in charge here, Hux." He hissed out, making me glance down at his shuddering lip. I took half a step back to create some personal space, looking down at the floor. "We captured him, that's why I'm interested."
"And for some reason he spoke to me rather than you two. I wonder why." He snarled, pulling his coat forwards as if it'll help at making him look like something more than an adult baby. He started walking back to the boy, setting a calm hand on his shoulder again. When I rose my head to look at shaking form, the boy was holding a red stone in his hand which glowed against his skin. Frost was staring at me with a contorted expression of concern and anger towards Ren, tightening her hand behind her back.
"We will be leaving, Supreme Leader." Rose whispered with what respect for authority was left in her venomous words, bowing her head. I swear I heard her mutter "pfaask" under her breath as we were leaving.
When the doors closed, Rose sighed heavily and let out a gentle laugh. I looked at her, hoping that she didn't think of me as reckless now that I started speaking back to people higher than me. "That was a good stunt." She admitted, clapping me over the back which made me tense. "Don't do that when you're alone with him."
I shrugged. Kylo was closely bound to my father. I don't think him pulling something with me would go unnoticed by the General. "So, what now? Do we just sit around in our 'quarters and play Sabacc all day?" Rose was typing in the floor numbers when we entered the elevator; having used the datapads so many times she had memorized the number positions by touch and didn't need to look. "As much as I'd enjoy playing Sabacc and beating your ass, winning your every possession," she boasted, grinning like the damn Chesire Loth-Cat. "I have to interrogate our pilot. But, considering he's still knocked dead from the blow, I'll skip down to the firearms to see how they're doing." The elevator sent us down quicker than you could say 'stifftroopers stormbloopers' and I found myself saying goodbye to Rose for probably a few hours.
After I found out the pilot was taken to the interrogation rooms, I decided to leave down and watch over him until he wakes up and relax before the interrogation. It's hard work, watching Rose quiver with mad anger.
The halls I passed were quiet and almost deserted. We didn't keep prisoners here after they had been interrogated, so everyone was transferred to the cells. The only currently active room was where Navaien was being held, but he would be transferred to a cell later when Rose finishes her session. I pitied the poor man, having to go through so many traumas and to end up here. Sometimes I thought about how to save the captured, set them free somehow, but I knew I couldn't. It was just a wild thought.
I found the room quite quickly (only locked one in 54 rooms), pushing my palm against the cold fingerprint reader. It scanned over once and flashed green, opening the doors and presenting the still quite knocked out pilot. I sat down in one of the seats and ran a hand through my hair, taking in a cold breath from the woosh of air that passed me when the door closed. I found myself to be more tired than I gave myself credit for, and watching the man sleep probably uncomfortably tied to that chair made me yawn myself.
Maybe a little nap wouldn't hurt.
