Claire's sister points at a dark corner of the basement, "behind that door is all kinds of tools, you might be able to find a weapon in there."
You walk over to where she's pointing and find a supply closet, inside it's full of cleaning and household items. You notice a shovel in the corner and decide that's your best weapon.
With your shovel in hand, you kick down the door to the basement and quietly walk around the house looking for Claire. Eventually you see her in the kitchen with her back to you, sharpening a knife. You sneak up on her and bash her over the head with your shovel.
Now that Claire's unconscious, you finally call the police and wait impatiently until they show up, free the captives and arrest Claire. You have quite the story to tell at school tomorrow.
