Horror of Horrors!

"I just don't trust that guy," you tell Will. "We're a lot bigger than he is. This is our chance!"
"Okay," the Will-monster mutters. "Go!"
The two of you tackle the magician. MagnifiCAT falls to the ground.
"OOF!" MagnifiCAT moans as Will lands on his stomach. You grab one of his feet and start twisting it.
MagnifiCAT raises one arm and gestures. Silver sparks shoot from his fingertips. Some of them fall on your shoulder. You feel a stinging sensation and smell burning fur. Furious, you give his foot another, harder twist. Will bounces on his middle.
"Baji-bouzook!" the magician cries. "Uncle! I give up! Let me go!"
"Will you change us back to our regular selves?" Will demands.
"Yes, all right," MagnifiCAT agrees.
"And make Ralph visible again?" you add, giving his foot a tweak. "And let him stay with us if he wants to?"
"Yes, yes. I promise!"
You and Will exchange a glance. "How do we know you'll do as you say?" you ask.
"Magician's honor," MagnifiCAT declares. "If I went back on that, the Magicians' Guild would take away all my powers. I wouldn't even be able to find a quarter in somebody's ear."
"Do we trust him?" Will wonders.
You shrug. "I guess we have to. We can't sit on him forever."
Will stands up. You let go of MagnifiCAT's foot.
You don't feel nearly as confident as you pretend. Not even close.
MagnifiCAT slowly gets to his feet. He raises both hands and waves them at you and Will.
"Tohou, bohou, artis magor," MagnifiCAT intones in a deep voice.
A flash of light blinds you for a moment. When you recover, MagnifiCAT looks much taller. No...YOU are shorter. You are yourself again. So is Will.
"Arf, arf, arf!" Tail wagging furiously, Ralph runs circles around you and your friend.
MagnifiCAT picks up his bag of tricks. "Do you acknowledge that I carried out my promise?" he demands.
"Uh, sure," you reply.
"Right," Will adds. "Hey --- but we missed most of your show. Shouldn't we get a refund or something?"
MagnifiCAT shoots him a cold look. "Here is some free advice, kid," he growls. "Don't push your luck."
"He's right," you tell Will. You grin. "After all, we've already had a monster of a good time."
