Arctic Adventure
December 1st-2nd, sunny but cold
Dear Diary:
Today I set off on a small private jet to go to the Arctic region for research. My jet landed in a small airport in Greenland and from there I took an icebreaker ship to my research station. I'm a zoologist who's planning to study the wildlife and animals of the Arctic so that I can see how they're doing with climate change and help them survive better. Due to the effects of global warming, the Arctic region is slowing melting away, and it's causing all the animals that live there to become extinct. My research trip aims to get data and observations so that governments around the world can make better decisions to protect the environment.
Today I'm wearing a wool beanie to keep my head warm, a bright green waterproof jacket, a pair of thermal gloves, an inflatable life ring around my neck, a walkie-talkie clipped to my shoulder, a pair of binoculars strapped to my chest. Because it's my first day, I didn't have to do too much, so I just walked around getting to know the surrounding area, even though it's mostly just ice as far as the eye can see. I also got to know my research station better, which is just a small house on top of the ice with desks and chairs and science equipment.
I'm looking forward to my Arctic adventure!
[Marked by Alex 02/12 Good description of the protagonist (main character) scientist by using a search image as inspiration and the reasons for the research trip. This chapter sets out all the information for the 6W's (who/what/where/when/why/how) of your adventure! 9 out of 10]
