Living in the Wizarding World (Harry Potter fanfic but it’s cool and interactive)
You turn left and lug your trunk down the hall, spotting a compartment with two people inside.
The two boys look nice enough, and one, a raven-haired boy wearing cracked glasses, waves you over.
“Hello!” He says, smiling at you, “You looked like you needed a compartment, wanna sit with us?”
You nod, thankful that you have a place to sit.
The other boy waves at you, he has ginger hair and a mouth full of chocolate. When he finished eating, he introduced himself, “I’m Ron, what’s your name?”
You introduce yourself, Harry helping you store your trunk above your heads in the upper baggage shelf.
You all talk for a while before someone knocks on the compartment door.
You stand and open it to reveal a girl your age with bushy brown hair. She is already wearing her school uniform.
“Have any of you seen a toad?”
You, Ron, and Harry all shake your heads.
“Hmm, okay. Well if you see one a boy named Neville’s lost one.”
She made to leave but seemed to stop herself.
“You should all probably get dressed, I hear we’re arriving soon.”
Again, she made to leave before turning around again.
“I’m Hermione, Hermione Granger.”
You all introduce yourselves and watch Hermione leave after a bit.
“She’s weird.”
Ron says, his mouth again full of chocolate. Harry looks like he wants to defend the girl, but an announcement comes on.
“Students if you have not already done so, please put on your uniforms, we will be arriving at Hogwarts in fifteen minutes.”
-
You stand on the platform, wearing your new school robes and following a very large man to the lake.
Harry seems to know the man, and he introduces you and Ron.
“This is Hagrid! He helped me get all my stuff from Diagon Alley.”
Hagrid chuckles and gently shakes yours and Ron’s hands.
He leads everyone to a small fleet of boats, instructing you to get in with three other people.
The girl, Hermione, joins you Ron, and Harry in a boat.
You drift across the lake, taking in the beauty of Hogwarts, staring up at the castle in awe.
-
Once inside and waiting for the woman called Mcgonagal, something interesting happens.
A boy with white hair and a smirk on his face approaches Harry. He insults Ron for being a Weasley, Hermione for being a mudblood (she tells you later what it means) and you for hanging out with them both. To Harry, he sticks out his hand rather than insult him, going off about how he’s great and Harry should really consider being friends with him.
Thankfully Mcgonagal interrupts the boys before Ron rips the blonde kid (he introduced himself as Draco Malfoy) to bits.
You enter the Great Hall, listening to Hermione and her facts about the school. It’s all kind of interesting, but you’re quickly distracted by a hat sitting on a stool.
Mcgonagal explains that this is the Sorting Ceremony and that the old hat sitting there will determine where you belong.
Where do you best belong?
