Bigger than the date
You continue your date talking about useless things like pets, friends and other random things. You are sad you missed you opportunity to ask about your parents but you might meet again soon. Maybe you can bring up your parents later.
You go home and go to bed. That night you have a dream that you are standing at the edge of a cliff. At the bottom you see your parents. They are calling for help. You notice Jacob is next to you and he has ropes and other tools to save them.
He ignores you and starts lowering the rope and hauling up random people leaving you poor parents still calling for help.
"Hey! Can you help my parents!" You call to Jacob. He looks at you.
"You missed your chance to ask for help." He says in your father's voice.
