My Rich Neighbor

"So are you in to acting? I didn't think you were a thespian," you say as you lead Amber into the auditorium. It's dim and empty as of right now.

"I love it. Becoming someone you're not and the feeling of being on the stage is really something," she says climbing up on the stage and dancing under the lights. You laugh. "Have you been in a play before?"

"No, I'm not very good at the whole acting thing," you confess. She smiles and holds out her hand. She pulls you up on stage. You stand there looking out into the rows and rows of seats. The spotlights blind you. You watch her looking at the props that are set up for some play that you failed to remember. She pretends to fight you with a sword prop that she found in the back. You laugh and find yourselves spending the rest of the day wandering around the huge school.

You go your separate ways even though you both end up going back to the same neighborhood. You'll have to offer her a ride sometimes. Maybe you guys can carpool or something. There's something about her that makes you want to get to know her. Maybe it's because she's so easy to talk to.
