Meet the Krulls

Henry’s mother called in a favor to a friend who had a fishing boat and equipment and she and henry got right out to the ocean to prepare to dive and see what was beneath them in the ocean. They got right into their gear and put on oxygen tanks, goggles and flippers and then got connected to a wire that would bring them back up to the boat if anything were to go wrong. The splashed right in and dove down nice and slow so they wouldn't scare anything. Large fish were all around them of all colors and sizes. It was amazing and henry turned around to look at his mom to give her the thumbs up. As he put his hands down he saw a flash of something behind his mom, not knowing what it was he kept it to himself and signaled her to follow him to look at more fish. They made their way slowly across the water looking left to right. Henry felt a little nudge against his foot; thinking it was a fish he didn’t pay much attention to it, seconds later he felt pressure on his leg and all the sudden was pulled away from his mom, who was just in front of him, he looked behind him and saw a sharks mouth attached to his leg. Henry screamed and suddenly felt his mother’s hands on his arm trying to pull him away from the shark. It wasn’t too big, about the same height as his sister but shorter than him and he didn’t feel any pain in his leg yet couldn’t get his leg free. He realized the shark wasn’t biting him but trying to drag him further down in the water. He kept trying to writhe free of the sharks grasp but couldn’t. He looked at his mother flailing his arms at her as he was being pulled farther away from her. Henry was terrified and thought that this was it, he would never see his family again all because he was allowed to do this when it normally would not have been possible. How could this happen? Henry started to feel dizzy and tried to shake his head into clearness. And in that moment Henry’s mother was right by his side pulling on him again, he realized that wasn’t helping. His mother squeezed his arm hard and pulled herself closer to the shark’s face and with her other hand swung it right into the shark’s nose over and over again and amazingly the shark released its grip. Henry balled his fingers up in a fist and was ready to join his mom but suddenly the shark turned and swam away. Henry and his mom quickly realized that they needed to get back to the surface and get out of the water, they tugged quickly on the boat wire and felt the pull against their waists , as they resurfaced they pulled themselves up and into the boat and as they pulled their masks off, breathed in air in gasping breaths trying to make sense of what just happened . Henry looked at his mom and with short shallow breaths said, “ I think i’m done for the day mom, can we just go home?” his mom chuckled and just pulled him into a hug and said “of course hun, remember this is yes day and we can do whatever you want, including wanting to go home.”
