Just Another Day

“I would love to go on a date with you Blake,” You respond with a smile.

“Cool. Oh, you need my number,” He realizes.

Blake searches his pockets and finds a scrap piece of paper. Meanwhile, you remember putting a pencil in your jacket pocket in English class and hand it to him. He scribbles the combination of numbers and hands the paper and pencil back. His hands slightly sweaty and warm from the game but you don’t care. Blake Walker just gave you his number!

“Meet me by the willow tree behind the school today after school and we’ll decide a place.” Blake suggests.

“Ok.” You agree and put the pencil and paper back into your jacket pocket.

Just then, Blake’s friends from gym class come up and start talking to him. You decide that it’s best for you to just head back to class. "Mr. Clark!" You whisper to yourself and hurry back into the busy hallway to head up stairs. I wonder what he’ll say to me this time. You ponder as you dodge and slip through groups of people. You pass your previous class and spy your water bottle on the floor by the open door of the classroom. You duck in and grab it and emerge back into the sea of students. Once you arrive at Mr. Clark’s door, you see him standing there waiting for you.

“There you are. Come on in, let’s talk about why you skipped my entire class again today. Oh, Mr. Lopez is here too.”

Great. Here we go again. You think to yourself as you walk by Mr. Clark. He shuts the door. This your fifth time asking to go grab something and you not coming back. You’re done for.
