Family or Friends

You take the elevator, it’s cramped, but Jamie makes a bench out of your suitcases. After an awkward silence, you arrive on the ground floor. Bennie heads over to the taxi stand and starts a conversion with the man, "Hello, taxi for 3 please."
"Sure thing," replies the man.
You enter the taxi and, in his thick New York accent, he greets you with, “Hello, where ya off to?”
Bennie tells him the address of your mom’s penthouse and you head of. On the way there you see all the New York sights: pizza shops, small stands, and towering sky scrapers. After the 25 minute drive your taxi arrives to your mom’s penthouse in Soho, New York. She is delighted to see you. “Hi, welcome home. I’ve just finished dinner it’s on the table,” your mom exclaims.
She made one of your favorite dinners: roast beef with mashed potatoes and broccoli. You enjoy a great time talking over dinner about your adventures in Sussex. You don't mention how you could have been at a party with you friends, celebrating Catherine's birthday. Instead you decide to focus on this time you get with your mom that you'll remember for the rest of your life. Bennie and Jamie were also happy to get a break. Bennie took a picture at the Statue of Liberty and sent it to his family in Senegal. Jamie took a walk through Central Park and enjoyed stopping to pet all the dogs he met along the way, especially the beagles. You contain no regret about your decision to see your mom one bit.
