Pawprints on the Sidewalk
September 8, 2019 Saturday.
2-0-1-9.
You read the year long and hard, and felt relieved that its 2019, and twice-relieved that its a Saturday. Last night you had an unlikely dream, that you were back to elementary school-grade days and today is Friday. But today is a Saturday on 2019, you wouldn't miss or be late for school or office. At worst, you'd be late for work half a day if its Friday and you slept through until now. Your office work promptly starts at 10:00 am, and you'll only have ample time to eat breakfast, take a bath, dress for work, and sort your way through the traffic jam via jeepney and train commute to the city. Almost always, you'll arrive at office at around past lunch time.
As you sleepily closed your eyes to return to dreamland, you caught a glimpse of a familiar smiling face lying sideways on your bedside table by the alarm clock. You vaguely remembered that today is a special day. You counted to three, and rose sleepily from bed to the greet friendly smiling face.
