It never ends

You pick a random direction and start walking. Hours of walking results in nothing, except a interesting shaped rock which you pick up and put in your pocket. Unfortunately, you later realize that pocket was torn up when you tumbled on the ground. That rock is long gone now, left behind for someone else to find.

It's not until the sun starts to rise that you find something of interest. There's a rusted hatch on the ground, covered in dark red stains. It's quite large, but you think you could open it.
