"Wait, didn't Dr Simon go crazy?", ask Jonal.
"This was before he was consumed by a fatal god-complex, but yes"
Churpie continued,"The thesis of the paper was that a civilization with the ablity to time travel could escape disastrous events by traveling into the past. To preserve their technological acheviments, the travelers could bring tools to rebuild their infrastructure. But then they must destroy what they bring. Nothing from their own history can be save or reused"
Luckie guestions, "Why not?"
"The example giving is that of a screwdriver.", answers Churpie. "If the screwdriver was taken back in time, and then kept for 10,000 years until the disaster that cause the need to time travel happens, and the you take it back again; then you have the potential for a screwdriver of infinite age."
"And?",Jonal prods.
"A object can't not be of infinite age. The very matter it's made of would beak down. The forces that hold the atoms together would weakin and fade." Churpie explains," Everything kept is a chance for a paradox the would doom the civilization"
"So if the Torment is rebuilding their civilization here in the pass, why bring these humans here. Why not someone else?", asks LeadBeast. "If they want slave labor, wouldn't anyone do?"
"I can not answer that, I am still crossing checking their names in my database for a common factor to connect them.", replies Churpie
