The Book
You don't really trust him, even though you've never actually met him, so you decide not to let him see pictures of your book. As you sit there, you begin to feel dizzy. Suddenly, everything goes dark.
You wake up in a dark dungeon cell and a tall, elegant woman is standing in the cell with you. She begins to explain. "The book was a test. Three people from my kingdom are being chosen to go on a quest, and we needed a human leader. That would have been you, had you passed the test. Unfortunately, you did not trust the boy, which shows that you are too quick to judge. The test would have involved several other characteristics too, had you passed this part of it. However, you did not, and I must remove this from your memories. Drink this, and it will be as though this never happened."
She hands you a cup filled with a bright blue liquid, sparkling and glowing much brighter than it should've in a dark dungeon cell.
