The Haunted House

The house isn't very big. Your friends say that it's bigger than it looks. You sigh and follow them in. The usual long line hasn't formed tonight. The boy at the door to the house takes your money and waves you lazily through.
"Don't we get a flashlight or something?" you ask. He narrows his eyes at you. You are pushed in by your friends. The hall is dark and there are people hiding in the shadows that jump out and scream at you at every turn. You debate turning and running out or climbing through a window or staying with them.
