Chance for a Dance | Just a Kiss GxB Paranormal Romance

He didn't resist when I leaned up and kissed him, pulling him down closer onto me and the bed, until there was nothing but his weight against mine atop the sheets.

A soft tingling hovered between our lips as he broke away at last, breathing hard. For a moment, I thought for sure he was going to get up and leave, then he turned and pressed me back down into the bed, one hand sliding out through my hair as he pulled my face harder to his. Then his hands moved to either side of my body, pinning me in place. Not that there was anywhere else I'd rather have been. I wanted this, had wanted this so long.

But like it always was with him, he pulled away. This time he didn't come back. He scrambled to the other side of the room and crouched in the dark against the wall, breathing hard like he was fighting another part of himself for control--his demon half, the half that wanted my energy.

I rolled out of bed and onto the floor, surprised at how light I felt. Or, I suppose it would be more accurate to say, dizzy.

He'd once said he could kill me if he wasn't careful, and suddenly I felt like I might finally understand. And maybe I might throw up if I didn't get the world back under control. If only it would stop spinning so much--

From across the room, I heard Chance curse.
