Homicide and Havoc on Halloween

“I can not let her die. I will not let her die.” You repeat your head, over and over. You know this could save your sister. It could buy her time to escape, and all she needs is time. Which is running out very quickly. You unroll the covers and push the metal door wide open. Your no longer scared of what might happen because you know this could save your sister. “It’s worth a shot,” you remind yourself,”I couldn’t live with myself if I had known I didn’t do anything to try to save her.” You steadily walk down to the end of the hallway, step after step, you slowe move closer to death. You finally walk into the room that is holding your sister hostage. “Take me instead.” You try to say as confidently as you can. The man turns to face you. He is wearing a tarnished off white coat. The edges are coated with aged blood. His face was coated with wrinkles and scars. “What are you doing here girl? You were supposed to be sleeping until I was finished experimenting with her,” He growled at you. His raspy voice sent chills down your back that made all your hairs raise in alarm. “Please, let her go. She is just a young girl. She doesn’t deserve to die for your sick expirement. I will sacrifice myself if you let her go. Just please don’t harm her,” you plead to him. Your voice cracks with sorrow as you’ve just said your death sentence. He thinks for a minute, then walks up to you for an examination. “Young, healthy, vibrant…you will do,” he sighs, “Yes, I will let your sister go if you work out.” You then turn to your sister, and she screams out, “No! You can’t do this. What will I do without you? You can’t go!” You rush to her side and whisper urgently in her ear, “Do not be worried, and you must be brave. While I am in surgery, try to escape. You have to find a way or me and Scarlett would have died for nothing. Do not stop running into your out of this awful place. I will miss you, Octavia. I will always love you, so you remember that.” A tear slowly falls from your cheek. Octavia begins to weep, you then embrace her in a hug that is a signal of goodbyes. The man then rips you from your hug and clenches your arm. Octavia screams in agony and anger. “Stay there,” you say to her, “I will be alright.” “Do not get an ideas,” he howled at Octavia, and then drags you off down the hallway. You enter one dark room that had hospital beds with blankets over them. Under the blankets were lumps, of at least you hoped were. Then, in the corner of the room you notice an arm peeking out of the blanket, it had a sparkly red S symbol on it. You realize who that must be, and your stomach lurches. You can’t bare to think of what is going to happen with you and what had happened to Scarlett. The man then snarled, “Let’s hope your heart is works better than your friends. I need a heart, so I can revive my dead sister. I should’ve never lost her, and I’m determined to bring her back.” “That’s not how it works,” you try to explain. But, you realize it’s no use trying to reason with a crazy person. You lay on the hospital bed while he begins to pick out pointy needles. He then brings over a big violet bag with a small tube coming from it like Octavia had. Except yours was a different color. He then snatches your hand, and immediately pricks your vein in your wrist with a needle attched to the tube. You begin to cry as you realize this is the end. Your life is coming to the end of the tunnel. But, you stop crying when you realize you did what you had to do to help your sister escape. You just know she will escape. She just had to! You begin to see your life timeline in your mind, it’s been a good life. Good friends, great family, you have no regrets. Plus, this was never her real home. That comforts you and you repeat that in your head as the world begins to grow hazy until it's completely dark.

Octavia does make it out of the hospital during your operation, and gets the police to come. They arrest the insane man, and sentence him to life in prison. Your family is heartbroken over the loss of you and your best friend Scarlett, and Octavia advocates your brave sacrifice. The town makes an annual remembrance day of you and your honorable sacrifice.
