Quome: Infinite
You decided to go into the forest. You could go into the village or the castle later, but for now you aught to find something to eat. Besides, the forest looked to be the closest to you, and considering the hard fall you took from that weird portal door, you'd need to replenish fast.
Making it to your feet, you find that, indeed, your back hurts like hell. You carefully make your way to the huge forest, making sure not to fall. Once you reach the treeline you leaned against a tree, taking a moment to breathe slowly. As some of the pain in your back subsides you hear what sounds like a cry from the forest. The audible shout of "YES! That's it!" floated over. The voice was slightly gruff and male, though whoever shouted sounded considerably young. That was it. Someone was in this forest, and they could help you get out of this place!
You pushed yourself from the tree and headed deeper into the forest. The only difference of this forest and other forests you've been to - ya know, before you fell into this weird dimension place - was that the trees seemed to be taller and thicker than usual. Their leaves blotted out most of the sun, making the forest feel gloomy and foreboding.
Partway through your little escape, you stop short as you hear a heavy rustling in the bushes near you. Something, not really something large, but SOMETHING was near, and it knew you were there. It sounded small enough that you could outrun it, but... then again, who knows; it could be a child or maybe a dog that could lead you to a house here. Of course, it could always be a squirrel or something... maybe it's nothing to be concerned about.
