Quome: Infinite

You decide to go check out the village. That seems like the most logical option. Even from where you're standing, you an tell the village is lively and full of people. It brings forth a wonderful opportunity to find out what the hell is going on.

After climbing to your feet and learning of a few back pains you head out to the village. The village itself was surrounded by tall, wooden spikes, that had a large gap for the entrance. Through the gap you're able to see the movement of blurry people of all ages, wearing brightly coloured clothing and of all heights and sizes.

However, as you get closer to the village the village seemed to grow more and more quiet. The residents darted into the homes and locked their doors before you even had a chance to see anything of them besides their colours. By the time you made it into the actual village, all was silent, and there was no activity to be viewed.

There was, however, the village to be viewed. And it was beautiful. The houses were made of brick and shingles, a nice grey tone. Slightly drab, but the sun shining off the walls and darkened windows gave a wonderful shine. The roads and / or pathways of the village were made of rocky dirt that crunched under your shoes. You could see that the village had four entrenches, all in a + shape along the village's wooden pike walls. Paths led from each entrance, branching off a few times to guide houses and shops, but it all led to the middle of the large village. Dead centre was a large, glistening fountain, rushing water pouring endlessly from its branches, with the statue of a horse positioned atop it. The horse was reared back on its hind hooves, front hooves kicking loudly into the air, and its mane, tail, and legs had stone flames rising from them.

After taking a look around the village you could confirm that the villagers were all inside their houses and shops. Not a single person was the be seen here, which was... pretty unnerving. You needed somebody to know where you were... so where would you start first?
