The Office of Terror

As you wander around in the dark office building, you see an outline of an object. You hurry up your pace and go to the object. It could end up being something that can help you see, in the dark, abandon building. As you get closer to the object you realize it is a lamp. You know the power isn't working properly so your hesitant to plug it in. You could get electrocuted. If you don't plug in the lamp you'll continue to walk in the dark. What should you do?
