Religion
The values of Buddhism are vastly different than those of western societies. Buddhism is based, instead, on the pursuit of absolute detachment from desires and expectations or even attachments. Thus, all the teachings revolve around these central ideas. There are eight major rules in the teachings: Know the truth, say nothing to hurt others, practice meditation, control your thoughts, resist evil, free your mind of evil, work for the good of others, and respect life. Both Hinduism and Buddhism believe in reincarnation.
