"Fantastic!" he yells. "I actually know the trainer for that one."
You are gestured into the training hall dedicated to the Red team's wizard gladiators. The entrance door is emblazoned with a red eye. When you arrive, it is a fervor of activity.
Three pairs of fighters are sparring in a makeshift ring; fireballs and lightning flying dangerously close to the onlookers. Off to your left, you see several podiums with combatants poring over the spell books upon them. The books are massive and put your pocket version to shame. Straight ahead is an argument between two women. One is an older woman in an equally aged robe. The other is a woman your age-possessing both a full set of armor and a terrible temper.
"I can't believe you!" she yells. "I can do better than this!"
"It was my decision." the older woman calmly replies.
"It shouldn't have been. I cannot move forward if this is the best you will allow them to throw at me." She gives the older woman a challenging glare, then gives up when she receives no response. She storms off and the older woman is left alone. Reynald then approaches.
"Master Giselda!" He calls. You are starting to realize just how exuberant this man can be. "I see you and Fiona are hitting it off as usual."
"Pay her no mind. You try to give your daughter a safe life in imprisonment, but she wants to be the next Grand Champion. What can you do?"
"Of course. By the way Gis, speaking of the arena, I have a new contender for you."
"Really?" Giselda looks you aver skeptically. "I hope he fairs better than your last one. I still see smudges on the arena floor."
"He will, I guarantee it."
Giselda nods, then takes you by the arm and carries you away. All you have for comfort is the less than reassuring smile from Reynald as you are dragged off.
