Outlander
You facilitate the reinforcement of battlement and the healing of your troops. It is a mess, but your reputation has allowed for a smooth transition of power, so your men obey without question. At midday, you hear the warning horns from your watchmen on the battlements. By the gods, surely they would not mount another attack so soon.
"Horsemaster!" you hear to your relief. "Maefians, coming from the south!"
You ride out to meet the newcomers. The red of their banners is in sharp contrast to the green of your own. At the head of their company is a dark-skinned woman on a pure black horse.
"Hello, Horsemaster!" She calls, her voice turning your spine cold. "My scouts say that there was quite the battle out here. I would not want the abandoned city of Hakin to be destroyed. Surely we can work together to defeat this menace."
The Maefian has hundreds of soldiers behind her and her offer is tempting, but Captain Graff rides up beside you to whisper in your ear.
"Don't agree!" he hisses. "The Maefians are corrupt and malicious. If you give them any ground they will consume you and any power they can grasp."
You consider your Captain's advice.
