"Are you nervous?" Graff asks you. At first the question seems ridiculous.
When you ordered your men to open fire on the whole goblin force, you were not nervous. Their leader was dead and the barrage of arrow fire from the wall was harder to escape than a rainfall. The goblins were routed and your scouts have not seen any sign of them, except that several of the invasion boats on Hoffdown's shores were missing. By your command, the bodies of dead goblins were piled on the remaining crafts and sent east as a warning to any other goblin force that thinks Hakin is easy to take.
When you united the nations, you were not nervous. Logra, Maefia, and Elfan all wanted to find some sort of peace. When they heard the story of their soldiers working together to drive out the soldiers, it was quickly decided that all the nations would stand under the one banner of Hakin.
When you were crowned king, you were not nervous. As a Farchance, you had the strongest connection to the throne out of any other citizen of Hakin. Being born to a village that had no specific nation it owed allegiance to helped as well.
Of course you should not be nervous now, but you find that your knees are locking and you keep clenching and unclenching your fist.
"Well," you admit. "Maybe a little."
General Graff laughs and slaps you on the back. "Perfectly understandable, my king. Just don't get cold feet. If you do, you will find that Viko Zayrh was the least of all the terrors you have faced." The jesting stirs confidence in you and you walk out into the balcony with the rest of the procession.
Standing there in front of you is Lucia. She stands in dazzling white; a garment that is worth more than anything she has ever touched. Though she is markedly uncomfortable in it, she smiles at you and you melt. The ceremony goes in a blur, and you can only remember the holy man's last sentence:
"I present you, people of Hakin, Queen Lucia and King Nathan!"
The the entire city of Hakin erupts in applause and cheer. The people of this continent are now united and free from the goblins because of you. Lucia wraps you in her embrace, and gives you a kiss to ignite the entire city in bliss.
Though it makes the newly crowned king look like a foolish young man, you simply can't stop smiling.
