Unfortunately, the veterinarian contacts Tara and states that the surgery and rehabilitation for Max will run at about $5,000. Tara takes a look at her savings account and she is woefully short. Her $2,400 will not cover for Max's procedure and she left with no other option but to return him to the shelter.
