Out of Time
You realize that you can't do this alone anymore. You walk outside and pull out your phone. You have Natalie on speed dial and call her. She answers on the third ring.
"It must pretty urgent for you to be calling me after last night." You then remember Natalie's mad at you.
"Listen, I know that you're mad at me right now, but Nat, I really need your help."
"No thanks," She brutally shuts you down, "you may have already moved past the fact that you were a jerk to me at my own birthday party, but I haven't. Whatever type of help you need, I'm not the person to ask." She hangs up, not even letting you get another word in.
You look down towards your shirt, realizing that a wound has opened by your chest. You start to choke and lose your balance trying to breathe. You bleed out immediately, while you flatline in real life. Doctors aren't able to get your heart to start beating again and you die.
You were just a few hours away from when you first ended up in the coma, but you failed. So close, yet so far. Better luck next time.
