Out of Time
You open your eyes to a starry night sky in the middle of the forest. Lanterns are hung everywhere. Your memory tells you that this is the night of your best friend Natalie's birthday party. Your clothes have changed. You're no longer wearing the same dreary hospital gown as before, but a beautiful red dress that you remember wearing that night. In your hands is the gift you got her, but you don't remember what it is. You walk out of the forest into the moonlight.
"Amara!" You hear someone squeal your name. You turn, seeing who your memory tells you is your best friend Natalie running towards you. She grabs you and forces you into a tight squeeze that you're not entirely comfortable in.
"I'm so happy you're here..." She then starts talking a million miles a minute about things you don't remember or frankly even care about in this moment. You enter the center of the party and immediately run for the first chair in sight.
You look around, trying to remember who these people are. You remember Jameson, one of your friends since elementary school, Taylor, one of Natalie's friends in her AP Spanish Class, and many other that you recognize instantly. None of them could have put you into a coma, they all seem so nice. You don't seem to remember any problems.
