The life of Pete the parrot

You are a parrot. You look around your boring cage, it's been the same for months on end. Nothing interesting. No one wants you. Everyone passes by. One day, a small blonde boy stares you in the eyes. His eyes were a bright green and curious. He spoke in a small voice, "Hi I'm Tommy! I wanna adopt you and give you a home and toys and a family!"
I cocked my head to the side and pecked him lovingly. The next thing I knew I was in a car.
