Monster Academy Chronicles
It all began in the year 2025, the year when humanity initiated first contact. Not with beings from another planet, but a whole other universe. Our world had become so polluted, so ravaged by endless conflict, that the Earth was nearly to the point of becoming uninhabitable. Opposing nations were forced to face the fact that if things continued as they were, it would very well mean the extinction of humanity.
For the first time in history, all the world's leaders united as one to find a solution. The best and brightest minds from every corner of the globe determined that mankind's only hope was to find a new home, a new world to inhabit. But how? There was only one known planet in the universe that supported life, and it would take decades, if not centuries, to find another one. Which was time that we did not have.
Then, by either a miracle or coincidence, depending on which one you believe in, they found it. Locked away for decades deep within the bowels of the UN's archives, was The Bifrost Project. It's creator's identity had been lost to history, but whoever they were, they ended up being our salvation in humankind's darkest hour.
Basically, The Bifrost Project was an attempt to build a portal that could open a doorway to another universe. It sounds ridiculous, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The world's scientists worked day and night to build the first portal, and when it was finished, there was just one problem. In order to activate the doorway, we needed power, and lots of it, more power than we were capable of generating ourselves. How could we possibly power such a device? Once again, either through a miracle or coincidence, the answer ended up falling into our lap, courtesy of Mother Nature.
The answer to our predicament: a lightning bolt. With the portal finally activated, a team of volunteers stepped through, only to discover two things. One, the new world on the other side of the gate was remarkably similar to our own, with cities and technology, etc. Two, it was inhabited by the creatures of mythology and folklore on Earth.
Every creature imaginable, werewolves, dragons, zombies, you name it, lived in this world which they called Monstrossia. But rather than mindless beasts, these creatures were as intelligent as humans, and most could even speak. Needless to say, the monsters were shocked, and even afraid, that strange creatures from another dimension had appeared on their world out of nowhere. Thankfully, after some initial tension and panic, the human ambassadors were able to convince the Monstrossia Grand Council that humanity meant no harm, and only wished for refuge from our own dying world. Soon afterward, multiple portals were placed all across the Earth, allowing inter-dimensional travel for what was left of the population.
It has now been ten years since that day. Humans and monsters now both live in Monstrossia in relative peace. Some monsters either don't trust or outright despise humans, seeing them as invaders and inferior, while others are more lenient and welcoming. Humans now attend schools and businesses alongside monsters, and some even fall in love and marry.
All caught up? Okay then, now select which story you want to follow.
1. Monster Academy - Follows a human student named Joshua Slade through his life at the most prestigious high school in the monster world, Monstrossia Academy.
2. Monster Camp - Follows Joshua Slade during summer break, where he signs up as a councilor at a summer camp for monster children.
3. Monstrossia University - Follows Josh, as well as some other human students, during their first year of college.
So, what'll it be? (I would suggest reading Monster Academy first, to get a feel for the main characters.)
