The Disappearance of Chloe Marsh

Then, it hits you.

"Oh, the Mirror. It symbolizes her two-faced nature by using her reflection as the face she wants to be but never can."

Mr. Monroe smiles. "Excellent. Someone paid close attention. Well done."

"Ugh." Dahlia gives an annoyed sigh.

You give yourself a pat on the back. You feel that you'll be able to ace that quiz tomorrow, even if Dahlia continues to glare holes into your head.

Riiiiiiiiiing!

The bell rings, signalling the end of class. Everyone gathers their things as Mr. Monroe speaks.

"Alright, quiz tomorrow! Don't forget to review! Tomorrow, I'll give you your new assignment."

Most of the students are already gone, but you lag behind. Mr. Monroe approaches your desk.

"Come speak to me when you have some free time, would you?" he asks.

Shocked, you almost forget to answer.

"Uh, sure," you reply. He smiles and moves back to his desk at the front. Just as you stand, someone knocks shoulders with you as they pass. You see it's Dahlia. She clearly doesn't like you, and, to be honest, you're not real fond of her, either.

You ignore her and shoved your notebook into your bag. Mr. Monroe is sitting at his desk right now. You could talk to him now.

Just as your about to go over there, Dahlia beats you and starts talking to him sweetly. His annoyance is clear on his face.

You hear a small sigh from beside you. Rachel Price is still sitting in her desk, her head held low and eyes unfocused. The more you look at her, the more she seems... sick.

You don't know Rachel very well, but she's one of the few people who have actually been decent to you since you got here. Unlike Dahlia, Rachel's a genuinely nice person... but something seems off. You can see she's wearing sweats and a baggy hoodie, and her blonde hair is pushed back into a messy bun. Her brown eyes are dark and tired.

You glance over at Mr. Monroe, who's trying to kindly shoo Dahlia away.

What should you do?
