The story of one British Immigrant

Halifax seems too good to be true, you're getting paid extremely well, you're upper middle class and you can support your family now. Your son is now old enough to go to school, but Nova Scotia doesn't fund faith-based schools (and won't until way after confederation) and you now how to spend your hard earned money to pay a priest or religious leader to come to your house and teach your son. This is expensive and weighs you down financially.
