Period 5 HSA

The French Revolution was a started by the group known as the third estate, or the peasants and common people, who rebelled in an effort to remedy the unequal treatment from the First and Second Estates, the nobility and the clergymen. During this period, lower class French citizens razed and redesigned France’s political landscape, uprooting centuries-old institutions such as absolute monarchy and the feudal system. Although it failed to achieve all of its goals, the movement played a critical role in shaping modern nations in the future.
